Girls Night Out--Vampire or Werewolf?

We had a fun Girls Night Out and went to a screening of the movie, "New Moon" the night before it opened in the theatre. It was so much fun to be out with friends without our little ones. I am not a die hard fan but was excited to see it after reading the books and had to get in on the Twilight craze! We got together the night before and made our own "Team Edward/Jacob" shirts although most of us were torn between liking Edward in the book and Jacob in the movie. The writing on my shirt didn't stick very well but I decided on the sparkly vampire...

What a fun night! Can't wait to do it again for Eclipse!!!

Random November Fun

Our kids have loved the fall weather and were so excited to play in the leaves

Playing Pirates in the play house

Jayne is so flexible!

She loves to rock on her lamb and smiles so big!

Elle loves crafts and spends the majority of her time coloring, painting, drawing, writing books or making something. This is a picture of Hannah Montana she painted.

She made a puppet show out of a box we had and was so excited to put on a show for Jayne.

Easton LOVES his real tools Gpa gave him and is constantly wanting to build something. (I'm suprised we don't have holes all over our house or nails in our floor but luckily we don't.) He spends hours putting nails and screws in his little wood bench and then taking them back out. Don gave him some extra wood to pretend to build something and Easton laid it out and said he wanted to make a house for his guys so Don helped him.

Easton was excited to drill the screws

The finished house...

Perfect for his "guys!"

Jayne's surgery

Ever since Jayne was born, she has had a long belly button. We kept thinking that it would shrink down over time but it hasn't. I finally went to see a pediatric surgeon about it to make sure everything was ok. He said Jayne had an umbilical hernia and a lot of extra skin that would get in the way and bother her as she got older. So, yesterday Jayne had surgery to get her hernia fixed and she got a new belly button too!

Before surgery in her cute hospital pajamas

Jayne is clapping in this picture. She just learned a couple of days ago. It is so cute! She loved the crinkly paper.

Her belly button that literally hangs over her pants

The operating room was busy so we ended up having to wait for a few hours. Jayne was such a trooper. She hadn't eaten since 9:30 and didn't go into surgery until almost 3pm. She is so sweet! When the doctor finally came to take her, it was kind of sad. It is the weirdest thing seeing a man you don't really know walk off with your baby.

After her surgery, she was pretty upset. She was so hungry and tired.

Luckily, it is a simple surgery so we got to bring her home that night

Trick-or-Treat!

Halloween Night
We had our traditional chili in pumpkin bread bowls for dinner Halloween night and had Don's parents over. Elle was so cute trying to decorate the table with leaves that had fallen and her Halloween crafts she had made. She put a scary ghost under Easton's plate to suprise him and wanted to have Halloween music playing and the lights turned down low so it was scary ...So cute!

Ready to go trick-or-treating

Barbie "Thumbelina" and the transformer "Bumblebee"

Easton with his friend Drake "Wolverine" being tough

After trick-or-treating, Elle and Easton were eating some candy and we thought Jayne should get a taste too. We decided to give her her 1st sucker...She was so excited just to see it

Her first taste she was a little unsure

It didn't take long though before she grabbed it and loved it!

Every year, the kids get to pick out their 10 favorite pieces of candy and they leave the rest by their bedroom door that night. The next morning they find a prize from the "Great Pumpkin" in exchange for their candy. Easton says the great pumpkin probably has rotten teeth from eating so much candy! Elle got the "Barbie and Three Musketeers" book she wanted and Easton got the Transformers book he loves!

Pumpkins and Parties

The week before Halloween was filled with fun parties and Halloween activities. Our friends, The Knights, put on a great party with a festive scary dinner and activities for the kids-- musical chairs, cookie decorating, a donut eating contest, a pinata, digging for prizes in slimy spaghetti and a fun Halloween story! The kids loved it!

All the kids (Sarah, Elle, Easton, Annie, Rachel, Christian and Taylor)

I got to help with Easton's Preschool Halloween Party. I love being in his class with him. It is so cute to see him interacting with other kids and his teachers.
