Wedding Bliss!

We ended Spring Break with a beautiful spring wedding! Our gorgeous niece, Natalie, married her fiance, Trent, in the Salt Lake Temple. They are so happy and make such a beautiful couple. I am so glad that we were able to be there for their special day!

Spring Break

I loved having the kids home for Spring Break. And even though the weather wasn't as warm as we would have hoped, we still had a lot of fun!

A few of my favorite moments from the week...

Playing games

Puzzles

A visit to Grandma's Barn

Rain means lots of worms!!!

The cutest toilet paper dispenser!

Elle made a list of things she wanted to do over Spring Break

A VISIT TO THE AQUARIUM

Jayne loved seeing all the fish

Elle and Easton were so glad Don got to come

THE DINOSAUR MUSEUM

Dinosaur Roar!

All the kids-Elle, Easton and Jayne with their friends Drake and Ila

The favorite part was, of course, the dinosaur dig! Jayne just wants to do whatever Elle and Easton are doing. It is so cute!

Happy Birthday Don!

We had a fun dinner at Bonsai to celebrate Don's 34th birthday and invited Don's parents to come with us.

Our kids love how they cook at the table. Their favorite part is definitely the volcano. I thought Jayne would be scared of the fire but she loved it! It was a fun night with yummy food!

Elle made a book for Don for his birthday. She picked a picture of she and Don for each year since she was born and then wrote a note about each one. It was very sweet!

Easton loves to be like his sister so he made a book for Don too with pictures he picked of he and Don. It was so cute!

Happy Birthday to my sweet husband!

An unexpected hug

The other day, while the kids were having fun with Grandma, Don and I decided to run some errands. I was in a store when a little boy ran up to me, wrapped his arms around my legs and gave me a big hug. It caught me off guard but it was the cutest thing and I never turn down hugs. I expected that as soon as he looked up and saw that I was a stranger, he would run away. This has happened before with other kids who have grabbed onto me thinking I was their momma and then got a little scared when they realized I wasn't. But, this time was different. He looked up and gave me the biggest smile and kept hugging my legs. I immediately recognized those sweet almond eyes and knew that he had a little something extra, just like my Jayne. And then I felt that love that I feel every time I see a child with Down Syndrome. I was drawn to him. His brother, probably about 10 years old, came running up and said "I'm so sorry." I smiled at him and said, "It's OK. I have a little girl that is 2 that has Down Syndrome." Then he said, "Oh, so you understand." I definitely understand. I understand the incredible love that children with Down Syndrome have to give. I understand the joy and sometimes frustration of raising a child with special needs. But mostly, I understand how blessed we are to have Jayne in our family. I was so grateful to this little boy for reminding me just how lucky I am. I wanted to pick him up and give him a real hug...and so after asking his mom if it was ok, I did.

It was such a little thing but it made my whole week!!!

(This sweet little boy was 5 years old and had just been adopted by a very loving family. How lucky are they?)

Glimpse of Spring

After a long, cold winter, we can't wait to get outside! We were so excited for a warm spring day...

Fun in the Barbie Jeep

Scooters

Jayne was so cute on her little car following Elle and Easton around

Lots of fun with chalk

And then...

We woke up to 6 inches of snow!!! Come back Spring!

Elle's Spring Sing

Elle had her school "Spring Sing" last week. It was so cute! All the 2nd graders performed a few songs together and then each of the three classes had their own numbers. Elle was so excited for us to come!

They sang a song by Ben Harper about Recycling and "My Own Two Hands"

Elle's class did an Italian song and she was pretty excited to tell me they were going to wear funny moustaches

They finished off with Miley Cyrus' "Pumpin' up the Party." It was pretty cute seeing them all dance and sing their little hearts out!

Elle and her cute friend, Macy

Elle was really sweet and gave Easton her moustache when she was done. He was pretty excited because his new found love/obsession is Super Mario Bros and he thinks it looks just like Mario. He is such a funny kid!
