Easton's 1st Day of Preschool

Easton started preschool this week at Discovery. He was so excited he could hardly sleep the night before. He kept coming upstairs asking if the kids were there yet and if it was time to go. It was so cute! I can't believe he is getting so big!

Easton couldn't wait to get to preschool

I got to go with him to meet his teachers and play with the toys a couple of days earlier. He was so excited that they had trucks and was gathering them up to show me the different sizes and kinds. Even though he is gone only a couple of hours for 2 days a week, I miss my little guy. He loves being big though and had so much fun!

Labor Day hike to Notch Pass

We got up early on Labor Day and headed to the Uintas again for one more hike while the weather is still so nice. We stopped to get breakfast in Kamas at The Yolk, where we met up with our friends, the Sparks, and then headed up into the mountains. We decided to hike to Notch Pass after reading how beautiful the view was from the top. We didn't realize how far it was though or how long it would take us to get there with all the kids' snack and potty breaks. It was not a hard hike, just really far. After three hours, we finally made it to Notch Pass. The view was amazing! We could see so many lakes from the top. The kids did so great! By the time we got back to our cars though, we were all so tired. Easton told us that he "never wanted to do that hike again." It was a long hike but still a fun day!

Go Cougars!

BYU played their opening football game against the University of Oklahoma in the new Dallas Cowboys stadium Saturday night! We got together with some of Don's family at our house to watch the game. Oklahoma was favored to win by at least two touchdowns but BYU's defense did awesome and BYU ended up winning the game in the last three minutes 14-13. What a great game! We are training our kids early to be cougar fans!

Baby Animals at the Zoo

We went to the zoo with friends to see all the new animals that have been born. We got to see a new baby giraffe and three new baby tigers. We didn't see the baby elephant because it is still with its mom. Easton loves the zoo and was so excited to go! We have been little buddies now that Elle is in school all day so we have been doing some fun things that he wants to do.

Visit from Scott and Heidi

My little brother Scott and my sister-in-law Heidi came to visit last weekend. They are moving to Sacramento and got to stop and see us on their way there. It was so much fun to spend time with them! Elle and Easton loved playing with their dog, Cali. They arrived late Friday night so first thing Saturday morning, Elle and Easton came into our room asking where the dog was. It was so cute! Easton couldn't wait to play tackle football with Uncle Scott and Elle loved beating him in boxing on the Wii. She beats everyone! I guess it is all the jumping around. Scott and Heidi were cute with baby Jayne too. Heidi is pregnant and they will find out soon what they are having! We can't wait! What a fun weekend!

Thanksgiving Point Farm

We went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point with Jill and her kids. It was so fun! The kids loved seeing the animals and feeding them corn. I can't believe how excited Elle, Easton and Drake were to ride the ponies too. We had to wait 45 minutes in line but they all loved the ride!

First Day of 1st Grade and Fun with Grandpa

My little girl is growing up! I can't believe she is getting so big. Elle started 1st grade last week. She was so excited! She kept asking the whole time we were at Lake Powell how many days until school started. She is thrilled to take a lunch box to school and to have two recesses! We got to meet her teacher the day before she started. Her name is Mrs. Selander. Elle said she thinks she is cute. I'm going to miss my little girl. She is such a big help with Easton and Jayne and I love spending time with her. I have told Don many times how weird it is that she will now be with someone else more hours of the day than she is with me. That makes me sad! Kids grow up too fast!

Elle was so excited about her new haircut. She begged me all summer to get an A-line. I don't even know how she knew what that is. I knew it would be cute on her but was hesitant because I don't know how to style short hair. I don't even do my own hair half the time. Elle told me that I just needed to round brush it. I don't know how she knows so much. It looks adorable on her though and isn't as hard as I thought. She loves it! She loves her new Barbie lunch box too! We got it a few weeks before school started and had to have a few picnics at the park with it because Elle couldn't wait to use it!

Easton misses Elle so much! They are best friends! He asks me all day long if it is time to pick Elle up from school. He wants to go with Don every morning to drop her off too.

Elle with her cute little friends Aurora and Ellie

I think Grandpa Don knew that Easton would be missing Elle so he picked him up that morning after we dropped off Elle and took him for a few hours. They went to Home Depot and got some things to build a stand for some water barrels. Easton loves going with Grandpa to Home Depot because he always gets Grandpa to buy him Skittles. He loves tools too! He told me that they had "Grandpa and boy time. "

Grandpa let Easton drill the screws and hammer the nails. He is so good to always take the time to show Easton how to do things and explain it to him. That's how Don learned too.

Lake Powell

We spent the week before school started in Lake Powell and had so much fun! We look forward to it every year. We love being outside and playing in the water. The scenery is beautiful and there is so much to do! We got to ski, wake board, tube, swim, ride the wave runners, play on the beach, play Rook, eat great food and best of all, be with family. It was the perfect end to the summer! What a fun vacation!

You can't beat the scenery! It is amazing!

Our kids loved playing in the sand with their cousins (Elle, Easton, Mitch)

It was Jayne's first time at Lake Powell! She loved being on the sand and riding in the boat. Don says she will be a pro skier one day.

Family swim (Tami, Sum, Jayne, Don, Ken, Mitch, Glenn, Nati, Elle, Lindsey and Easton)

Easton and Elle loved swimming and were so excited to practice all they learned in their lessons

Easton too...The second we got on the boat, Easton would find a place to lay down

Elle loved to drive the boat with Grandpa or Daddy

Easton loved fishing on Grandpa's boat and over the side of the house boat. We had to watch him carefully because he tried to feed them anything he could find

Jayne got lots of love and attention from her cousins. I know she misses them! (Jayne and Nati)

All the kids LOVE playing with Lindsay! She is so cute with kids.

Don doing what he loves very most! He was so excited to have perfect water our last night, he was yelling the whole time he skied.

Sum skiing

Even Easton tried skiing on the trainers. He was so excited until he got pulled under the water. After skiing, he tried to coach everyone who skiied and told them, "You have to hold on tight!"

Elle begged us to go see the Indian ruins in Forgotten Canyon. The sand was really hot walking to it though and so both our kids cried the whole way. We have nicknamed it the "Trail of Tears" now.
