Remembering Jay through Service

It has been two years since Don's brother, Jay, passed away. His son, Riley, returned home from his mission to Sweden a couple of months ago and wanted to find a way to honor and remember his dad. He came up with a long term plan to do one hour of service for every day of his dad's life-- totaling 14, 764 hours. After deciding to do service for Primary Children's Hospital, Riley found out what items they were in need of and then organized a big service project at Grandma's Barn in Pleasant Grove to make blankets and put together art kits for all the children that have to be at the hospital. The plan was to gather with extended family and friends on the day of Jay's passing and honor him by serving others. Riley and Jeremy also put out fliers and gathered items people wanted to donate to the hospital; including books, toys, bubbles, etc. Their dad would be so proud of all they have done!

BARN CAMPOUT

The night before, some of our extended family camped at the barn. It was a really fun night. We set up tents all over the grass, played games on the grass, had a BBQ for dinner, had Smores on the fire pit, played Rook and even watched a movie with the projector before bed. Family is the best!

SERVICE PROJECT
All of the planning paid off and the whole day was a big success! A lot of people came to sew baby blankets, tie fleece blankets, and put together art kits and journals for kids at Primary Children's Hospital. A total of 188 service hours including all the planning and gathering of items and the day.
